Afridi’s century has blasted Bangladesh completely and ended up their campaign on a high note. Pakistan crushes Bangladesh in the 5th ODI of the Asia Cup by beating them by 139 runs. This is Pakistan’s first ODI win in 2010. This ODI will be remembered for breaking many records.

Pakistan posted their highest ever ODI total of 385 beating 371 which they had made against Sri Lanka in 1996-97. Shahid Afridi has now hold the record got hit most number of sixes in ODIs beating Sanath Jayasuria, he’s now on the top of the list with 272 sixes.

Shahid Afridi scored the sixth fastest ODI century in this match, he also has three in top six. Bangladeshi Shafiful Islam receive slaps from all Pakistan players and conceded 95 runs in his 10 overs, he is now on sixth on the list of worst economy rate in a ten over spell.

The story of a match is all about Pakistani batting, openers Imran Farhat (66) and Shahzaib Hassan (50) were on the charge from the word go, both played aggressively and gave Pakistan a solid opening stand of 81.

Umar Amin was runout in most disappointing fashion. He was run out by Mohammad Mahmudullah whilemoving from the off to the leg-side at the non-striker's end after completing a single. Amin's bat was in the air as he walked across the popping crease and was clearly not trying to steal a single when Mahmudullah broke the stumps. Umpire Billy Doctrove referred this to the third umpire out who declared him out.

Asad Shafiqe another promising youngster made his debut in this match and he looks good in his tiny innings.

Shahid Afridi was in a move of destruction which he did, he made sixth fastest century 100 of just 54 deliveries including 17 fours and 4 huge sixes.

Umar Akmal also played a good hand of 50 as Pakistan finish their innings as new record total of 385-7 in 50 overs. Clearly the target of 386 was never on for Bengal Tigers.

Bangladeshi reply was a little disappointing to the huge target, only Junaid Saddique played a good innings of 97 to regain some pride. Other Bangladeshi batsmen were just looking to play their 50 overs, they never challenge Pakistani bowling at any stage which result as huge win in the favor of Pakistan.

Pakistan ended up the Asia Cup on a high note, Afridi definitely lead the way but unluckily cannot qualify for the finals. Pakistan had both close games but win was more tougher.

Pakistan can pick lots of positives from this Asia Cup, first of all they deserve superb appreciation after what has happened in last six months, Afridi and his men showed great discipline and unity. Shoaib Akhtar is back, he is the one who really lifts the Pakistan side and has the ability to concord the opposition. Youngsters like Amin, Hasan and Shafique really showed that Pakistan still has talent in the bank and there is no need to worry for the future.

Now Pakistan is going on England tour, team has been announced and hopefully they will show the same unity and discipline on that tour as well with the hope of better result.
