Pak-English 3rd ODI was fixed, says UK paper

An English news papers The Sun has claimed that the third one day international between England and Pakistan was fixed by Pakistani players, ICC has launched an investigation into the third ODI between England and Pakistan at Oval after it received information about the patterns in the Pakistani innings before the game started.

Pakistan won that game by 23 runs in a thrilling fashion and made their way back into the series. Pakistan successfully defended the modest total of 241 courtesy of some outstanding bowling from Umar Gull.

The Sun has reported that it gave information to ICC about the scoring pattern of Pakistani innings in two overs, ICC is now going to investigate that Friday’s game at Oval.

Newspapers reported that Illegal bookmakers of Indian and Dubai knew before the game what would happen so they could launch a betting coup.

Haroon Lorgat, the ICC chief executive, said. "We therefore feel it is incumbent upon us to launch a full enquiry into this particular game, although it is worth pointing out at this stage that we are not stating as fact that anything untoward has occurred. Only in the fullness of the investigation can that be established."

Scotland Yard is already investigating the match-fixing allegation in Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asif and Salman butt. This new scandal is not gone help Pakistan in next two games of the series.
