Afridi to open the innings in T20's in New Zealand

Pakistan one day and T20 captain Shahid Afridi has said that he can promote himself as an opener in the upcoming Twnety20 series against New Zealand.

Talking to the reporters on Friday Afridi also said that I want to finish my career by leading Pakistan side to World Cup glory. “As captain I would love to end my career after leading our team to the World Cup title,”

He said that we almost have completed 90 percent of the world cup squad. He told reporters that he is planning to open the innings against New Zealand in Twenty20’s and also planning to give wicket-keeping job to Umar Akmal.

He said Miandad is really helping the great deal to the youngsters, young players like Fawad Alam and Umar Akmal should learn from him. “Miandad’s guidance is much appreciated and the tips that come from him are always very helpful,” he said.

Pakistan will play 3 Twenty20, 2 Tests and 6 ODI games before the big World Cup starting 19 Feb and Afridi is hoping that players will get a big boost from the victories on New Zealand tour. “I am sure that this tour will enhance the confidence of our players and that would reflect in the World Cup.”
