Kamran Akmal included in the World Cup squad

PCB has announced the 30 - men squad for the World Cup 2011. Senior batsmen Mohammad Yousuf and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal also included in the 30-men squad. Shoaib Malik and Danish Kaneria failed to get their names in the squad.

Senior batsman Misbah -ul- Haq also included in the initial squad. Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq also named in the preliminary world cup squad for the forth consecutive times from 1999. Shahid Afridi is likely to be named captain for the mega event but no official statement has come out yet from PCB.

Chief Selector Mohsin Hassan Khan said that they have selected the best available squad.

“We are satisfied that we have selected the best squad from amongst the available players,” said chief selector Mohsin Khan.

“The Integrity Committee has given its views on some players to the selectors, who have taken into consideration that input and has selected the best 30 players for the World Cup,” Butt said in a statement released by the board.

A Pakistan squad for six one-dayers against New Zealand will be announced next week.
