Aisam-il-Haq’a historic run at US Open comes to an end as he and his Czech partner Kveta Peschke, was beaten in the mixed doubles final at US Open by Americans Bob Bryan and Liezel Huber in straight sets 6-4 and 6-4.

"Too good. They were the better team," Qureshi said.

"It has been tough times at home due to the flooding and the terrorist attacks," Qureshi said. "I'm glad Kveta was able to help me bring some good news to the people back home."

Qureshi stared up at fans in the largest tennis stadium in the world and told the crowd, "I never ever will forget this moment for the rest of my life."

Peschke, whom Qureshi called the most famous Czech woman in Pakistan, was proud of the effort by the duo in a first-time pairing."It was amazing. It was a really great experience, first time together," she said. "Let's hope the next times are even better than this one."

Even now Qureshi has a chance to grab the grand slam event as he and his Indian partner Roham Bopanna will face Bryan Brothers in the men’s doubles final. After the match Bob Bryan also praised Aisam –ul-Haq.

"Mr. Qureshi is a great player. What him and Bopanna are doing for world peace is incredible," Bob Bryan said. "Those guys are great guys. Everyone in the locker room likes them."

After the match Bryan also said that he and his brother will donate fund to flood victims in Pakistan.

“Qureshi didn’t know about it. I talked it over with my brother and my dad and we decided to do it,” Bryan said. “I’ll write a cheque right after the tournament.”

It was a great journey for Aisam-ul-Haq in the mixed-doubles as he became the first Pakistani to play any grand slam event final, now all the eyes will be on men’s-doubles final where Aisam and Bopanna are on a hot role and hopefully Aisam can bring some good news to Pakistan.
