Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Ijaz Butt has said that PCB cannot have different standards for different players and that’s why his board will not make any appeals for leniency for 18-year-old fast bowler Mohammad Amir.

He told the Indian channel NDTV that if Amir proves guilty than he will also be treated like other two senior Pakistani players. "Different standards cannot be applied for different cricketers," he said, adding that according to the PCB the players had to be thought of as "innocent unless proven guilty". If they are found guilty Butt said, "the book will be thrown at them".

Pakistan’s cricket chief Ijaz Butt and ICC Chief Sharad Pawar met on Thursday and discuss the current match-fixing scandal on Pakistani players.

The ICC chief vowed the regulatory body would "maintain the sanctity" of the game amid Pakistan's spot-fixing betting scandal.

"We will never tolerate any nonsense or corruption in the game of cricket. We want to maintain the sanctity of cricket," Pawar, who is also India's agriculture minister, told reporters after the 90-minute talks.

Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Amir already had submitted their appeals to ICC and their lawyers confirmed that these players will deafened themselves over disciplinary actions against them.

Ijaz Butt also said that players will remain under suspension until by the Scotland Yard completed their investigation.

"The matter is under investigation. Until that investigation is completed, we cannot comment on it," he said. "The ICC has suspended the players. Unless the suspension is removed, they cannot play."

This meeting between two executives could be real beneficial for the return of Indo-Pak cricket.
